Defining What is Real
by ThatWhichIS
If You are comparing waking "life" with the "life" of dreams, they are both just as "real".
Those who are adept at lucid dreaming have seen that dreams can become just as lucid and vivid as waking "life". The only difference is the events that occur. Imagine a dream character waking up in this "world" would He not think it just as strange, the restrictions and such, would not this "world" be the "less real" One?
Perhaps both are just as unreal as each other?
It is assumed that simply because it is being perceived it is what is Real. Is not the unexpected called the unreal?
Defining the Real against the unreal?
If One considers that dreams are actually the same as waking "life" then the definitions for Reality become narrowed down.
One can accept that both dreams and waking "life" are Reality, or they can search deeper.
There is One thing that is not perceived as waking "life" and dreams are perceived, and that is Self. (Know that when I speak of Self I do not speak of the soul of astral bodies, but what is behind them even still).
It is what You are and what You Know and it's characteristics are different from the characteristics of WL and dreams.
Self is constant always (Eternal). It never changes, it is always what it is.
It needs no judgment to be known. In fact judgment will cause One to forget Self.
It is not seen outside. It cannot be for it is You and You cannot be outside of Self.
"Life" (Waking and dreams) is inconsistent (non-eternal). It is forever changing which adds to it being unknowable.
"Life" is known through judgment; one perceives what is outside of Self and judges it (Declares it as something).
"Life" is forever outside of Self. Which is evident in the fact it is perceived.
Now one can accept that what they are is not Real, or that what they perceive is not Real.
What is Real is what is Knowable (Remembering that the expected is considered Reality) and Self is the only thing you can Truly Know (It is the only thing that is Truly expected because it never changes) because it is the only thing you are.
What is Real is that which you can know and what you can know is what you are.
Self is Real, what is not Self is nothingness that never was.
Once One Realizes nothing outside of Self is known, they will realize that it never was because if they never knew it they could never have experienced it, not knowing anything to experience.
Unreality collapses in on itself into the nothingness it always was.
Self is Real. Not Self ever existed to be not Real.
